Amarendra Kumar is a Senior Partner at Lex Gladius and a practising Advocate with around a decade of experience across diverse areas of law. A graduate of Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU), he regularly appears before the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi, District Courts, and leading tribunals including the NCLT, NCLAT, NCDRC, ITAT, and APTEL. His practice spans commercial, company, service, civil, and electricity laws, where he is known for delivering effective, research-driven, and result-oriented legal solutions.

He is empanelled with the Supreme Court Legal Services Committee (SCLSC) as Assisting Counsel and also serves as a Legal Services Advocate with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). In these roles, he represents litigants before the courts and also undertakes pro bono work, reinforcing his commitment to access-to-justice while continuing to handle complex, high-stakes matters.

Amarendra’s professional journey has also been shaped by his deep involvement in judicial reform and institutional policy. As Consultant (Research) at the Centre for Research and Planning, Supreme Court of India, he worked closely with successive Chief Justices of India, Judges, and Supreme Court Committees. He led and initiated research for SC-JUDICARE, a reform initiative aimed at reducing pendency in the Supreme Court through advanced case management and resource efficiency, and contributed to streamlining the functioning of constitutional bench hearings. Earlier, as a Law Clerk-cum-Research Associate at the Supreme Court, he assisted in drafting judgments and briefs in landmark constitutional cases.

In addition to his litigation practice, Amarendra writes on constitutional law, judicial reform, and access to justice. His rare combination of hands-on courtroom experience and deep institutional policy work shapes the ethos of Lex Gladius.
